Our Preschool Curriculum

We uphold the philosophy of providing academic-based learning by laying a robust educational foundation for our students. Our chosen curriculum is widely recommended for preschool education and endorsed by the North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education as developmentally appropriate. 

At CCA we have 2 infant classrooms. One younger, one older to meet the needs of infants at all stages of development.

Infants have individualized schedules to mimic their schedule at home. The schedule is flexible and will be adjusted to your infant’s needs as they grow

Our goal in the Infant Room is that we are loving, supportive partners with our parents in the daytime care of your child. It is our goal that each baby is cared for in a loving and safe environment!

We invite you to tour our Infant Room – it is important for expectant families to register early – Infant spaces fill up quickly and do not open frequently. We would love for you to join our CCA family!

At Concord Children’s Academy, we believe that the Pre-Toddler age group is unique in that they are still babies that need to be loved, but they are also ready for more challenges.

We love sitting down with the children at their level and exploring – everything is a learning opportunity for our littlest students!

In the Pre-Toddler Room, our loving and nurturing teachers will take the time to ensure that your child’s physical and emotional needs will be consistently and affectionately met.

We have a structured program of interactive play, both inside and outside, singing, learning to relate to classmates, exploring their environment, rest times, naps, diapering, feeding, washing and comforting. The schedule provides your Pre-Toddler with a sense of security and order in their daily lives.

beginning in the Pre-Toddler Classrooms!

The Toddler Room truly begins the structured daily program phase of an educational preschool. The Toddlers have a structured daily schedule of Circle Time, Center Time (Art, Science, Blocks, Dramatic Play, Library, Music and Manipulatives), outside play and learning, lunch and free time, potty times, naptime and more!

• Our goal in the Toddler Room is that we work together with you to positively, lovingly transitioning your child from the Toddler program to the preschool setting.

Potty training is a big part of the toddler program! Teachers work together with parents to achieve this major milestone!

• Toddlers thrive when they are in a loving, supportive environment that allows them to explore and discover under the careful supervision and direction of teachers who encourage and cherish the child’s accomplishments. Toddlers are a fun age group. Toddlers are learning to talk, engage and fully interact with their peers. They need lots of positive reinforcement and direction. Our teachers are trained to lovingly guide your Toddler through this stage. The developmental growth at this stage is truly astounding… why not ensure that your child receives the most well-rounded program?

• Preschool students enjoy many curriculum Enrichment activities such as Soccer Shots, Mr. Music classes, use of the music/movement studio, use of the basketball courts and outdoor learning area!

• The Preschool educational curriculum is built on the Creative Curriculum program that is recommended by the NC Division of Child Development. Creative curriculum is an educational approach that integrates the arts, creativity, and hands-on learning activities into daily lessons, aiming to foster holistic development and promote critical thinking skills. The primary objective of a creative curriculum is to facilitate children’s learning through play, engagement, and exploration.

In our Pre-K classrooms, we utilize learning centers that allows for teacher-directed activities and collaborative problem-solving. This offers flexibility for children to independently explore their areas of interest. Learning centers aim to enhance language and reading skills, foster creativity in construction and art, develop math and fine motor skills, engage in dramatic play, explore science, build social/emotional skills and stimulate sensory exploration. Each designated area serves as a hands-on, interactive platform for your child to delve deeper into themes and concepts introduced in class, preparing them for a smooth transition to Kindergarten

• Pre-K classes have dedicated, degreed teachers and long-term staff.

• Our Pre-K students enjoy many enrichment activities such as Scholastic My Big World, Star Student, Mystery Readers, ShowN-Share, Soccer Shots, Mr. Music and more!

• There are special parent programs throughout the year
  specifically for Pre-K!

Our afterschool program serves children Kindergarten through Fifth Grade at Highland Creek and Cox Mill Elementary.

Under the compassionate guidance of our educators, the classroom transforms into a vibrant community filled with interactive learning experiences. We introduce essential concepts and correlate ideas, sparking open-ended thinking and gradually strengthening into a structured thought pattern. Intellectual growth and development stem from expanding thoughts, along with exploration and inquiry. 

Our creative curriculum takes formative strides in ensuring our youngest learners reach significant developmental milestones. Our teachers stimulate their cerebral development by introducing them to the joy of discovering the world around them.
